Rubber Bushes A rubber bush is a component that bonds rubber between two metal elements, typically an inner metal sleeve, a rubber body, and an outer metal shell. The rubber layer sits between the metal parts, absorbing the relative movement between them rather than allowing it to transfer directly. That flexibility is the point: instead of two rigid components grinding against each other or transmitting shock and vibration across a hard mechanical connection, the rubber bush provides a controlled, compliant interface. The construction handles multiple types of loading simultaneously. Radial loads, forces acting across the bush from side to side, compress the rubber. Torsional loads and twisting forces deform it.
